Leo House

The project represents the transformation and expansion of an existing house through a precise architectural intervention that redefines both form and atmosphere. Rather than erasing the old, the new addition builds upon it — contrasting and complementing the original volume in equal measure.

The existing structure, characterized by its heavy masonry and modest proportions, is reinterpreted through new material textures and spatial extensions. The addition introduces clarity, lightness, and rhythm, using contemporary gestures such as the double-height glazed volume, the open terrace, and a vibrant orange steel framework that marks the transition between old and new.

The bright orange accents — used in pergolas, frames, and built-in elements — act as connective tissue, visually binding together the original and the added parts. They also express the architectural honesty of the intervention: where something new begins, it is not hidden but highlighted.

A layered material palette of exposed aggregate concrete, corrugated black panels, and transparent glass establishes a balance between solidity and transparency, permanence and adaptation. The result is an evolved dwelling — one that respects its origins but projects confidently into the present.
